GLACIER | Part 3

After our hike to Red Rock Falls, we ventured up the Going to the Sun Road toward Logan Pass. The weather got really gloomy and it rained for awhile. We ran inside the visitor's center at Logan Pass (along with everyone else in the park, it seemed!) and when the storm broke, we got gorgeous views as we walked back through the parking lot. On our way back toward St. Mary, we stopped at the St. Mary Lake overlook - it was so beautiful, even with grey skies! The wind was crazy, but it wasn't too cold. Next, we headed into town (St. Mary) for dinner at Snowgoose Grill - I didn't take any pictures, but it was so delicious and probably one of my favorite meals of the trip! Snowgoose was another recommendation from someone we had talked to earlier in the trip. After that, we went across the street to Park Cafe for dessert after seeing all of their signs about their homemade pie. It was a huge disappointment! First, the place was super busy and understaffed, so we tried to be understanding of our flustered server, but they were out of a bunch of pies, and when he brought our orders to the table, they weren't even warm! He didn't heat them up long enough at all! And the pie wasn't that good. For a place that advertises their pie, it was a huge let down! We weren't too bummed, and just went back to camp. When we got there, we realized the storm had BROKEN our tent!!! We had been told when we checked into the campground that it was known to have winds pick up out of nowhere, but we didn't realize it would be a problem for our huge 10 man tent! Several of the poles were shattered, and had ripped holes through the roof! Luckily, it was still standing - at least enough to sleep in, and the next two nights we were headed to a lodge anyway! We were so sad to have to get rid of that tent though, it was so nice! We loved it!

we saw this moose just outside the park entrance at St. Mary! I know it looks like a deer in this picture, but trust me, it was a huge moose!

Our poor tent. May he rest in peace.
