Gahhhhh.... this post is so old, haha I'm doing so bad at this!!! Here's a nother * catch up post *

Sometimes I think I lose track of the fact that I want this blog to document my life, my family. My marriage. I don't feel like I update Devin and his life enough on here so...

he's been on several trips for school this semester. this is cassidy arch in capitol reef

 

he tied into his harness on nana's chimney earlier in the fall to clear away some of the ivy. he sent me this picture and i thought it was so funny that he was up there in his climbing gear.

 

gym progess. he's there all day every day now, and everything is starting to take shape. the bouldering walls are done now and they are working on a giant, free standing boulder that will be in the center of the gym. the audio equipment went in this week, the padded floors will be installed, and then we'll open in 2 weeks! whoa. WHOA.

 

from a couple weeks ago. devin and one of the other managers, Derek were at the gym until 1am installing security cameras so me and Derek's wife, Pieper kept them company. whatever it takes! i can't believe how hard they work. they deserve awards for this kind of stuff. lucky for us, there is a macey's right down the street that's open 24 hours, has kong kones, donuts, and fountain diet coke. we're set for life.

another shot of the guys in the lift. a few hours after this picture, i went up in the lift with Devin, and i'm not usually afraid of heights, but in a rickety scissor lift? not my thing. it was terrifying. can't believe all the things he's done for this gym.

here he is, in all his glory: our brand new jeep compass, Crosby. okay so I wanted a jeep patriot, actually. you know how most people's dream cars are like... foreign sports cars that cost half a million dollars? my dream car? is a jeep patriot. i know. i'm very realistic. so when we went to the dealership to talk about trading in our altima, we debated a lot. and then i told devin that if we were gonna get a new car, we should just go for it and get what we really wanted. we had driven this compass for the day (they let us keep it over night, and we actually really did love it), but then we told the sales guy about the unrequited love for the patriot, and we test drove a few. and i'm not kidding, i had like, tears welling in my eyes being in that car because it's my DREEEEAMMM. so we went inside and looked at numbers. and then we laughed and bought the compass instead. ha! (it's not that they are a gazillion dollars. it's that we don't want a car payment that costs the same as our rent, so... maybe next time?! haha) but seriously, i love this compass. it's the best car i've ever owned!

 

look at my adorable sunbeams. evie, korver, aniston, carson and libby. i wish you could all meet libby so somebody could finally agree with me that she is JUNIE B JONES IN THE FLESH. i love her. i love these sunbeams SO much. and i miss them! our ward split a few weeks ago and i didn't get to keep any of them :(

 

so one time, i was like 7 weeks pregnant, and exhausted... ALWAYS. and i came home from work one day and finally had a tiny bit of energy, so i told devin to hurry up and let's go on a hike before i remember how tired i am! we were dogsitting koda and riley at the time... so we hiked. and it was great! and then all three dogs found a creek. and all three dogs took a swim. so all three dogs got a bath. it was the worst idea ever.

 

but they're so dang cute and they were so happy to be adventuring!

 

koda is the sweetest little old lady. she makes the happiest squeals whenever you see her.

 

i'm so glad i got some cute photos of my sunbeams because a few weeks after this picture, our ward split, and i didn't even get to say goodbye and i don't even want to talk about it. i miss them SO much. now we teach the CTR 4 class, and after a couple weeks, these kids are growing on me too, but my sunbeaammmmssss :( audrey, mckenlee, evie, sophie and libby

 

loved the way these chocolate and blue raspberry macarons turned out for the baby shower for Sarah! it was such a fun afternoon and i'm so glad everyone liked my macarons. they can be a pain sometimes, but i think they're totally worth it!

 

this was one of those TGIfreakingF afternoons.

newest toy: his lamb. which now, about a three weeks since this photo was taken, doesn't even resemble something that kind of looks like a lamb. and he loves it. he takes it everywhere, and he sleeps with it.

 

his spot is right in the middle of wherever and whatever devin and i are doing.

 

hahaha that eye roll. such a drama queen.

this is when i was waiting to hear from devin so i would know when i could go pick him up and tell him i was pregnant! the anxiety was REAL. i've never been so impatient!

Katie Lately

several weeks ago, i was hanging out one night with McKayla and Chloe and we discovered THIS! queenlacie bought my print! And posted about it! And everybody loved it! And everybody bought it! It was the coolest thing. I'd never had anything like that happen to me before, and it was a really proud moment!

 

A random afternoon we spent at the Strawberry Marina with my family - it was pouring rain all day so we were stuck in the tailer, but Scar kept us all entertained!

sometimes being a supportive wife means hanging out at the climbing gym until 1am while your husband installs security cameras. luckily derek was there to help him, and derek's wife pieper was there to keep my company!

Like we've done in past years, we got together with our friends, The Medley's this fall and took each other's family photos! We love the Medley's so much - they are some of the most genuine people we've ever known and they are always great company! Not to mention, their adorable daughter Ellie who is always entertaining, and Lynn's amazing cooking! I loved the way these turned out, and I'm excited for next year!
