Cooper Lately

With the amount of photos I take of this dog, it was only a matter of time.

4th of July

We didn't have any major plans for the holiday, but it sure was nice to spend the afternoon at the pool while Devin worked, even though it ended with an inevitable sunburn. Friday evening, we drove up to Oakley and went to the Oakley Rodeo with our good friends Ryan and Chelsey. Chelsey's step dad was a sponsor for the rodeo, so we got great seats and a pre-rodeo dinner catered by a local restaurant. It was delicious! And after dinner, we got to watch the rodeo queens warm up their horses and Chelsey's cute little niece asked one of them for a ride and got one! It was adorable. I didn't take any photos because how do you take photos of a rodeo and also, it was really intense. I mean, those horses can buck! It was such a cool thing to be a part of and I gained a whole new respect for everyone in the rodeo industry, especially those animals! It ended with a fireworks show and we were out of there just in time for a big Uinta-style rainstorm. It was perfect.

We had all day Saturday together, and we didn't do a single patriotic thing, but we had the greatest time. We went to lunch with The Morck's and then later, stopped for shaved ice on the way home, and had a sushi dinner date all to ourselves. It seems like the longer the weekend is, the quicker it seems to go by. We spent some time wtih both of our parents on Sunday and officially started the countdown to our annual trip to Grey's River! 2 1/2 weeks! It was a good weekend.

June Favorites

Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush | If you know one single thing about Jaclyn Hill, it's probably that this brush is her holy grail. When she teamed up with Sigma and created a brush kit, that included this one, you shouldn't be surprised that I bought it immediately, and haven't looked back! It's just as amazing as she says it is. It's the perfect size, shape and density, it blends flawlessly, it cleans easily, and it's the foundation brush of your dreams. And I cannot stress enough how dreamy soft it is!

Egyptian Magic | I hadn't even heard of this stuff until I got it in my Birchbox for this month. I did a bunch of research, because I didn't even know what to use it for! Turns out? Everything. It's literal magic. People use it on anything from burns to eczema to acne to dry elbows to split ends and anything else you can imagine. It's such a simple formula, just honey, beeswax, olive oil, royal jelly, bee pollen and bee propolis. I got it in this teeny tiny baby jar, and when I looked up prices online.. yeesh. This stuff is expensive. But I believe in it! Countless celebrities swear by it, and it actually really does have ties to ancient egypt. Does it get better than that? I submit that it cannot. Think… vaseline, but on steroids?! Yeah. Something like that.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer | This bronzer had probably been the oldest item on my makeup wish list, and it took me months and months to finally buy it! I am still struggling with the justification of spending $30 on a single makeup product, so that held me over for a good few months, and then I thought as soon as I run out of the bronzer I have now, I can get it. And once that happened, I had no excuses! Aside from the packaging being a little bulky and weird to use, I wasn't let down at all! The color doesn't look like it will be dark enough to give you a good bronze, but don't believe it! It's beautiful. And it's a true brown-bronze. There is zero orange in it, which is so refreshing to me! I do feel like it can look a little ashy because of this, but when you apply it right you have nothing to worry about! I'm glad you get so much product, especially since you're paying so much for it, so I'd say it's worth it!

NYX Butter Gloss in "Peaches and Cream" | Is there anything better than finally finding your perfect lip color? Katie, meet Peaches and Cream. We're a match made in heaven. I have a handful of butter glosses, but this one is my new best friend. We'll be together forever, I tell ya! It's the perfect shade for me. I don't like the pale, frosting-looking pinks, and I can't go too red or orange, so this coral-y rosey pink is spot on. Muah! I love it. I just wish it had better longevity, because I'm reapplying a lot more than I would anything else, but then again, I got pretty used to lip stains for awhile there, which you really can't compete with, so I guess I've got nothing to complain about! Onward with the butter gloss - all of you!

Bath and Body Works lotion in "Amber Blush" | Maybe it's just because I'm super used to this lotion because I've loved it for years but nothing works for me like BBW does! I can't stand not having lotion on my hands. I hate the feeling of dry skin, so I've got bottles of this stuff all over. This is one of my favorite scents right now, along with several others (Dark Kiss, Secret Wonderland, Mad about You, and anything coconut…). Nothing compares to their formula. And their sales are always amazing.
