My sister had a baby. The most beautiful baby girl I've ever seen. She's the sweetest most content little wonder, and I could stare at her for days and never get sick of her amazing cheeks and perfectly pursed little lips, or those long, skinny frog legs she likes to tuck up under herself, or her quiet little coo's that let you know she's still breathing (she's always so sleepy, and so still. i wonder sometimes! haha). I could never get sick of her perfectly shaped head, or her mama's nose right there under her gorgeous dark blue eyes. she is the greatest little thing and i'm absolutely in love.
this baby has been a long time coming. it felt like an eternity that my sister was pregnant (i'm sure it felt longer for her!) and then baby girl was 10 days past her due date! it was agonizing waiting for her, and the hours and hours we all spent at the hospital while my sister was in labor didn't help either.
but, my goodness, she was worth it. baby scarlett has already brought this ginormous amount of love into our family that you just can't measure. i felt immediately connected to his little babe, and i think it's because over the past several months, i've grown so close to her mama. our entire family has been wrapped around this baby's finger and we wouldn't have it any other way. she's exactly what we all needed, and she is the perfect addition. watching mckayla and zac become parents has been incredible. they are so dedicated and so loving. they are naturals! mckayla has become this gorgeous, glowing mother, with perfect instinct, and zac is the protective dad that knows how to do it all just right. they are such a perfect little family.
i was so glad when mckayla asked me to photograph for her. i wanted to capture those moments in the long hours of labor through the night, and also those first moments we all met scarlett and the time they spent in the hospital before she came home. in a few weeks, when things have settled down and they start feeling like themselves again, i will take more photos in their home, but these ones, i'm just swooning over. what a perfect family. i love you, morck's!
She is just so, so sweet!!
